Learn this technique in seconds

Not to be confused with Fleur de Sel, the delicate sea salt that enhances the flavour of food, Fleur Seule is a florist's technique that simplifies arranging flowers. Even better, it’s perfect for working with garden cuttings — just as with salt, a little goes a long way!

In French, "fleur seule" means single flower. It describes a minimalist approach to flower arranging, where stems are placed in individual containers and grouped together.

Often, a single exquisite bloom — such as a rose, ranunculus, or dahlia — is showcased in a small vessel. Bud vases, bottles, tiny jugs, or even vintage beakers make excellent containers.

Textural accents like foliage, grasses, or berries add depth and interest. To create impact, group a collection of these mini arrangements. Each piece can be unique, or you can repeat the same look — the choice is yours. Fleur Seule — it’s an art form in itself. I hope you’ll have some fun with it!
